Why Patients Choose Dental Implants?

Dental implants are a permanent solution for replacing missing or damaged teeth, offering both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

A dental implant is a small titanium post that is surgically placed into the jawbone, acting as a replacement for a tooth root. Once the implant has integrated with the bone, a custom-made crown, bridge, or denture is attached to restore the appearance and function of your smile.

You Might be Wondering...

Will it hurt?
It’s normal to feel nervous about discomfort during treatment. Most patients find it easier than expected.
How much does it cost?
Cost depends on your smile and treatment needs. We explain all costs and payment options clearly before treatment.
Am I even suitable?
Suitability depends on your oral health and bone support. Many patients are suitable after assessment.
How long does it take?
Treatment time varies depending on healing and complexity. Your timeline depends on your treatment plan.
Is it better than dentures?

The Process of Getting Dental Implants

The process of getting dental implants is thorough and carefully planned to ensure the best possible results. Here’s what you can expect during your treatment:

  1. ConsultationYour journey begins with a comprehensive consultation where we assess your oral health, discuss your concerns, and determine whether dental implants are the right solution for you. We may take digital X-rays or 3D scans to evaluate your jawbone and create a personalised treatment approach.
  2. Plan: Once we have completed your assessment, we create a customised treatment plan tailored to your smile, goals, and oral health needs. We take the time to explain your options, treatment timeline, and expected outcomes so you feel informed and confident moving forward.
  3. Implant Placement: The dental implant is carefully placed into the jawbone using precise surgical techniques under local anaesthetic for your comfort. The implant acts as an artificial tooth root and provides a strong foundation for your future restoration.
  4. Healing:

Over the following months, the implant naturally integrates with the jawbone through a process called osseointegration. Once healing is complete, a small connector called an abutment is attached to prepare for your final restoration.

  5. Final Restoration: We take detailed impressions to create a custom crown, bridge, or denture designed to blend naturally with your smile. Once completed, your final restoration is securely fitted to the implant, restoring both function and appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do dental implants last?

With proper care and regular check-ups, dental implants can last many years and are designed as a long-term solution for missing teeth. Maintaining good oral hygiene and attending routine dental visits are key to their longevity.

Leaving a gap can lead to shifting teeth, bone loss, and changes in your bite over time. Replacing missing teeth with implants helps maintain function, appearance, and overall oral health.

All-on-4 is a full-arch restoration technique that uses four implants to support a full set of teeth, providing a permanent solution for missing teeth.

Recovery is usually manageable, with mild swelling or discomfort for a few days after the procedure. Most patients return to normal activities quickly, following the aftercare advice provided.

Dental implants should be cared for much like natural teeth, with regular brushing, flossing, and professional check-ups. Good oral hygiene and ongoing maintenance are important to help protect your implant and support long-term success.

Not all patients require a bone graft, but it may be recommended if there isn’t enough bone to support the implant. This will be assessed during your consultation and discussed as part of your treatment plan.
